Implantation
The common angler is mainly in the north-eastern Atlantic, of the sea of to the gulf of Guinea, and the russet-red one is more present in Atlantic-is. It is particularly abundant in April but remains available all the year.
Lifestyle

Burbot and angler, these two names are very often used to indicate the same fish. The common angler and the russet-red angler are distinguished between them by the size and the skin color. The first can measure up to two meters, the second has a size maximum of 90 cm and present of the black sides. It is a benthic fish. The body of the Angler flattened and its head is disproportionate. It carries the first free dorsal departments, of which the first ends in a cutaneous decoy to attract the preys. The broad jaw, equipped with strong sharp-edged teeth, opens upwards. The orbital arcades are hypertrophied and laid out on the head. The lower jaw and the sides are bordered of cutaneous scraps very similar to algae. The Angler is equipped with a perfect imitation. Its back is brown with and of the very variable reasons. Its belly is clear.
